Team Blue skates to 3-2 overtime win in U18 ‘AAA’ All-Star Game fuelled by Gatorade

On Saturday, January 25, the ‘AAA’ All-Stars wrapped up the 23rd annual Under-18 All-Star Festival fuelled by Gatorade at Scotiabank Pond. Before the ‘AAA’ All-Stars hit the ice, the U18 ‘AA’ All-Stars and ‘A’ All-Stars faced off with Team Blue winning both high scoring games.

The ‘AAA’ match-up proved to be the most balanced contest of the day, with Team Blue clinching another win in a 3-2 overtime result.

Michael Pavlovic (Toronto Titans) received Gatorade Player of the Game honours for Team Blue after assisting on the first and last goal of the game.

For Team Red, Marcus Colebrook (Toronto Young Nationals) earned the Gatorade Player of the Game after scoring the second goal for Team Red.

Team Red opened the scoring of the game with an early goal by Marcus Chiella (Missisauga Senators).

In the middle frame, Team Blue potted back-to-back goals from a pair of Toronto Titans, Matthew Sarabando and Logan Michaud

Team Red responded in the third period with an early goal from Colebrook that would tie things up at two-a-piece, sending the game to extra time.

Overtime featured back-and-forth action until Matteo Mandarino (North York Rangers) capitalized in the final minute to give Team Blue the 3-2 win.

The GTHL extends a special thank-you to apparel partner Gitch Sportswear for outfitting the U18 All-Stars.
